Outdoor and recreation brands
We are based in Denver. A lot of our team spends weekends on trails and rivers, and about a quarter of our client work is for outdoor and active lifestyle brands.

What makes outdoor marketing different
Outdoor brands sell to customers who know a lot. They read spec sheets, compare fabric weights, and trust a shop employee or a forum thread more than an ad. They also buy in tight seasonal windows, often through specialty retail and big-box partners at the same time as DTC.
The brands we work with are usually between $40 million and $400 million in revenue. Large enough to have a real marketing team and a wholesale business. Small enough that the CMO still reviews creative.
Where we help
Brand and product storytelling
Technical credibility without a wall of jargon. We build product naming, messaging hierarchies, and photography direction that work on a hang tag, a PDP, and a 15-second video. Our photographers know how to shoot in real conditions on a real budget.
DTC commerce
Most of our outdoor clients run Shopify Plus or Salesforce Commerce Cloud. We handle replatforming, PDP templates built around fit and spec comparison, and size and fit tools that reduce returns. One footwear client cut its return rate by four points after a fit guide rebuild.
Seasonal media
Outdoor demand moves with weather and calendars: ski season, spring hiking, summer water sports, hunting seasons. We plan flighted budgets around those windows and use geographic holdout tests to check what is actually working.
Retail partner programs
Specialty retail still matters in outdoor. We build co-op marketing kits, in-store training content, and retailer portals so independent shops tell your story the way you want it told.
Recent work
For Northline Outdoor we led a DTC relaunch that included a new site, a refreshed brand system, and an integrated spring campaign. The campaign was recognized at the Mountain West Creative Awards, and DTC revenue grew substantially in the following season. More detail is in our case ledger.
For Summit Peak Apparel, our commerce team migrated the brand to Shopify Plus ahead of peak season with no cart downtime during cutover.
Who you would work with
Outdoor accounts are led by a partner, not passed to a junior team after the pitch. Andre Whitlock oversees brand and media strategy for the practice, and Elena Vasquez leads commerce engineering from our Austin hub. You can see the full team on our leadership page.
